The Tree House Room

Inspired by his request of a tree house, we put his room on the upper floor at the nearest spot with the tree. It contains two levels: Level 1 - Bedroom, Level 2 - Upper terrace. He can climb the iron stairs to the upper terrace and hangout with his friends there.

I made the head bed with one unused glass door. Painted it with geometrical white stripes resemblance  the tree branches.

Collect some of his belongings, choose the most decorative, got this aesthetic values which fit with the room concept in particular. Of course at first we have to ask him his favorite color. Yes, BLUE it is.

So it's a blue tree room?

I've been preparing all these for about one week full. I'm doing the DIY project each days of that week to complete the look I wanted, of course, within our very very tight budget.

Hopefully I could make the husband proud for making our nest more pleasant to live in.

#JHouse Second Magazine Coverage - Dwell Asia

This time we have Dwell Asia magazine come to our #JHouse
I need around two weeks to do the preparations, scheduling and everything in between.
We had two different time photo shoots sessions since the first time didn't turn out quite very well.

Apparently second one was the charm, and voila: we're on Dwell Asia cover, April 2014!

Roommark

Beberapa waktu lalu saya sempat membuat beberapa roommark untuk menyambuat kedatangan beberapa teman yang berprofesi sebagai jurnalis.  Roommark atau penanda ruang(an) adalah sebuah komposisi dekor yang menjadi titik perhatian di sebuah ruangan. Istilah ini pertama kali saya temukan di blog INI. Saya khusus meluangkan waktu seharian untuk mendekor beberapa titik di beberapa ruangan rumah supaya kece dan enak dilihat.

Elemen roommark yang saya gunakan adalah berbagai benda yang sudah kami punyai sebelumnya, tidak ada yang khusus dibeli untuk keperluan pembuatan roommark tersebut.

Kebetulan saya mendapat beberapa warisan poster dari ayah dan kipas angin vintage yang cukup estetik untuk menjadi elemen utama roommark yang saya buat. Gitar listrik milik suami pun saya keluarkan dari sarungnya untuk tampil menjadi salah satu elemen ganteng roommark tersebut.

Saya juga menggunakan mainan koleksi saya (dan koleksi anak-anak) untuk menjadi elemen pendukung roommark tersebut. Bahkan beberapa buku yang sampulnya menarik saya gunakan juga.
